愛用の笛をご紹介します。 バロック時代に使われていたフルートで主につげ（boxwood）や黒檀（ebony）などの堅く緻密な重い木で作られており象牙の装飾がついたものもあります。楽器（１）はバロック初期ののもので3本継ですがその後は4本継で作られるようになりました。【5】と【6】の楽器は２番目の管に長さの違うものが数本用意されて、これを取り替えることでピッチを変えて演奏することができます。 いずれもキーは１つだけですが古典派の時代になるとキーが増えて4Keyや6Keyのフルートが盛んに制作されました。 多くはd'管で（最低音がd'）ピッコロはちょうど1オクターブ高くなっています。
